Computer Networking Tutorial 1 - Introduction to Networking:
A Computer Network, often simply referred to as a network, is a collection of hardware components and computers interconnected by communication channels that allow sharing of resources and information. Computer networking devices are also called network equipment. Where at least one process in one device is able to send/receive data to/from at least one process residing in a remote device, then the two devices is said to be in network. Networks may be classifies according to a wide variety of characteristics such as the medium used to transport he data, communications protocol used, scale, topology, and organizational scope. Computer networking devices are units that mediate data in a computer network.
